Inspired by John Lennon's visual and surreal lyrics, the album title is a loose reference to 'Lucy' from The Beatle song 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds'
Vinyl Sun used this as a theme to tie the tracks from their album together by imagining how this fictional character might view the modern world around her.
'The girl with kaleidoscope eyes dreams under a Vinyl Sun.'
Vinyl Sun pay homage to The Beatles and Lucy in a more direct way on the album track 'This Little Girl'. The 'sequel' reference in the title is a 'tongue & cheek' nod to the 1963 Beatles track 'This Boy'.
The album track 'Angel' has often been misrepresented or incorrectly labelled as a 'Nine Inch Nails' song on the internet. It has gone onto reach both notoriety and popularity on blogs and social networks with increased interest and debate regarding the origins of the song.
